Does Massage Therapy Therapy hurt?

Typically massage therapy is pain-free; however there may be some discomfort or soreness during or after a treatment if a muscle is inflamed and/or strained. Many people leave the session feeling very relaxed. If there are any conditions that the Massage Therapist deems more serious or may benefit from other treatments or investigations, Keyes to Health's multidisciplinary integrated clinic allows for streamlined referrals to any of our other health care services (Chiropractic Care, Acupuncture), usually on the same day.

Do I have to be in pain to have Massage Therapy?

No, Massage Therapy can be used for stress relief and general relaxation.

Do I have to get undressed to have Massage Therapy?

Yes, but it is not necessary to remove all articles of clothing. Patients may keep clothing on areas that are not being worked on. The patient is covered by a sheet and/or blanket. Your massage therapist is a licensed health professional, and consequently complete discretion is practiced.

How long does a Massage Therapy session last at Keyes to Health?

30, 45, 60 and 90 minute sessions are available. The duration of the session includes the entire time scheduled with the massage therapist. This includes time that may be required for preparation and assessment as well as the massage.

If I am pregnant can I have Massage Therapy?

Yes! Many pregnant women endure back pain, neck pain and other musculoskeletal conditions as a result of their foreward shifting gravity lines. The massage therapists at Keyes To Health are experienced with managing patients with theses changes, and can provide tremendous relief.
